Trust forms in the hallway, not on Zoom. Every fully-remote team I know spends a non-trivial chunk of its budget flying people in for offsites because the deficit is real.

Junior engineers learn ten times faster sitting next to a senior. Slack does not replace overhearing the architecture conversation at the next desk.
